"Nothing Else Matters" es una balada de la de Thrash metal Metallica. Fue lanzada como el tercer single del quinto álbum de estudio de la banda, Metallica el 20 de abril 1992.
La canción llego al numero 11 de en la lista de exitos de Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks asi como en el top-ten de numerosa lista de exitos Europeas. "Nothing Else Matters" se incluyo como una pista jugable en el video juego Guitar Hero: Metallica. La cancion ha sido versionada mas de cuarenta veces.
Surgimiento De La Canción
El cantante y guitarrista James Hetfield escribió la canción (acreditada a Hetfield/Ulrich) mientras estaba al telefono con su novia. Como sujetaba el teléfono con una mano, tocaba las cuatro cuerdas al aire, en un acorte estándar E-menor con la otra, lo cual formo las dos primeras lineas de la canción. La letra, que habla de estar "tan cerca, no importa lo lejos" (so close, no matter how far), también estaba dedicada a su novia, indicando los lazos que compartian incluso cuando Hetfield estaba de gira.
Inicialmente, la canción no estaba destinada a publicarse, ya que Hetfield la escribió para si, pero después que el batería Lars Ulrich la escuchara, se la escogió para el album.
