Es un trastorno neurologico que afecta el desarrollo de alguna parte del cerebro que controla la motricidad. Por eso los sintomas son diferentes segun el chico.

Si, en la pagina, los medicos chinos que realizan el tratamiento, publican que esta en fase experimental (obvio que le tienen mucha fe, como el abuelo de Messi al otro nieto)
Imaginense, los mismos autores, no se animan a decirle a la comunidad medica mundial que es efectivo, se animan a decir que estan en veremos.
Ahora me diran, para flaco que seguro no sos medico (siempre me dicen eso en mis posts ), pero si estan en veremos puede ser EFECTIVO. Tambien puede estar en veremos usar pis de mono para el Sida, pero no deja de estar en Veremos. Ambos veremos son igual de efectivos: NO SE SABE

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
Severe newborn hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) has a very high rate of disability and no effective treatment is available. The present study aimed to preliminarily evaluate the effects of human neural stem cell transplantation in treatment of severe neonatal HIE.
METHODS:
The patient was a 75-day old male infant with sequelae of severe HIE who had highly delayed development of intelligence and movement and myotonia. MRI showed multiple cerebromalacia and encephalatrophy. Cells obtained from the forebrain of an 11-week old fetus were cultured and amplified for 15 days. And then the human fetal neural stem cells were injected into cerebral ventricle of this infant.
RESULTS:
Twenty eight days after transplantation, remarkable improvement occurred not only in his myotonia but also in his intelligence and movement, which became similar to those of the normal infants of the same age. Positron emission tomography (PET) showed significantly increased radioactivity at temporal and occipital lobes which suggested that the cellular metabolism had increased greatly.
CONCLUSION:
The short-term effect of NSCs transplantation on the infant with severe HIE sequelae was significant. PET suggested that the implanted NSCs survived. Many more studies are needed to evaluate long-term effects of NSC transplantation in treatment of HIE.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Due to the publicity about stem cell transplantation for the treatment of cerebral palsy, many families seek information on treatment, and many travel overseas for cell transplantation. Even so, there is little scientific confirmation of benefit, and therefore existing knowledge in the field must be summarized. AREAS COVERED: This paper addresses the clinical protocols examining the problem, types of stem cells available for transplant, experimental models used to test the benefit of the cells, possible mechanisms of action, potential complications of cell treatment and what is needed in the field to help accelerate cell-based therapies. EXPERT OPINION: While stem cells may be beneficial in acute injuries of the CNS the biology of stem cells is not well enough understood in chronic injuries or disorders such as cerebral palsy. More work is required at the basic level of stem cell biology, in the development of animal models, and finally in well-conceived clinical trials.

Reitero, todos los articulos estan en pubmed, pueden leer alli. Estan divulgando esperanzas en miles de padres que tienen chicos con ese problema, y lo que es peor, SEGURAMENTE ESOS PADRES SE SIENTEN MAL POR QUE NO PUEDEN LLEVAR A SUS HIJOS A CHINA. Dos aclaraciones para los que siempre me cuestionan si soy medico por que no escribo con acentos, no lo hago por que me da fiaca apretar una tecla mas (medico va con acento en la e, policia en la i, etcetera en la segunda e) se perfectamente donde van.
