Everything is unusual here: The magician himself, playing the Seashell King, his improvised stage, the ship, and the viewers crowding in the waves behind the board of the stage. One flap of his arm, and the fish jumps out of the case.. The life is leaving old dwellings. The ancient river of life dried up, and desert sand still keeps the traces of its streams. A shell brought by the river is empty. Even the Sphinx silently left its place alongside the pyramids. The Moon appeared in the sky, a frozen sphere, perhaps, once, millions of years ago, abandoned by its inhabitants. …The campfire went to ashes, the darkness is impending, and the caravan is in a hurry to other towns where the light of warm dwellings shines, where the river of life has not run dry yet. This is a key moment. Remaining alone with the indifferent cold Cosmos, man looks for a foothold in the world. Attention should be paid to the symbolism of geometrical figures used on the picture: a circle, a spiral, and a triangle. The circle and the spiral are symbols of perfection, symbols of the Cosmos, while a triangle is a symbol meaning "Heaven — Sky — Lower World", or "Body — Mind — Soul." During the new moon, it is situated between the Sun and Earth and the side facing the Earth remains in a shadow. The sun shines on it’s back side. During the past centuries, the back side of the moon was an enigma for the humans. The only way to see the back side was with the help of the spaceships. That fact has evoked sometimes fantastic theories about its surface. One of the legends says that the moon is an artificial Satellite, created by the aliens. Then, the material it is made from should have been found on Earth, and the structure of the surface could have repeated the brick wall… The painting is a metaphor of the human imagination, capable to reach out to the unknown and mysterious and discovers the familiar structures. The beam of light is the metaphor of the “inner sight” of a human. The trumpeting of the elephants is a sound of rejoicing that erupts with the appearance of their king, their master. The elephants call other animals and birds to celebrate, with the occasion being life itself! Voices of the creatures obedient to the challenge blend into the polyphonic oratorio of joy and exultation that swells until it resonates throughout the heavens. It is fitting that elephants should lead this symphony. When the world was young, the elephant had strength and power over all. He also embodied wisdom, longevity, loyalty, tolerance, and compassion. Sound is the path into the cosmos, where the individual timbres and voices are as important as the entire universal orchestra. In Greek tradition, a lyre made from antelope horns was the instrument of Apollo, the god of prophecy and music. Playing it, Orpheus tamed wild animals, and charmed trees and mountains. According to Hindu doctrine, when Krishna played the flute, the cosmos started to move and creation of the world began. http://vladimirkush.com/astronomer] Ancient people thought that their world was flat and yet right before them in the sky at night they saw another world that was round. Their lack of perspective and knowledge blinded them to the truth. In retrospect it would be easy to say that we would not make the same judgments, however don't we do this every day with others due to our limitations? The Book of Wander is open, the window into the remote, where the sun shines brightly and the sky is like sapphire. A sail glides on the sea, a sail set by me, escaping from the dusty lethargy of urban existence. breathe in deeply the invigorating ocean breeze. guess I was absorbed in reading a book tonight! The sail boat in the open ocean is a symbol of the artist's aspiration to travel to new shores, to the unknown. It seems that the free wind of wandering blows from the open sea, while saltwater from the ocean splashes his face. This is not just the thirst for a variety of settings, it is the adventurous nature of his soul. The spirit of hunting penetrates throughout the painting. It is the theme well familiar from the paintings of different epoch. But this time it is an unusual hunting hunting of the small bees for a mighty tiger. Despite of their incomparable sizes, it is obvious that the tiger and the bee resemble each other, due to their similar striped patterns. There is a deeper meaning of that similarity: The bees unified by the instinct, become an unstoppable force, capable of chasing a big predator. The symbolism of the painting is connected with the dramatic character of the human life – the constant struggle of the person's will and purposefulness against a "plenty of tiresome cares", surrounding him. A comet arrived from the mysterious depths of the Cosmos, and it cuts the Earth's orbit instilling terror into inhabitants of a city. In the picture we see how in the niches of the dome of the sacred tower stone sages, the guardians of the temple, are frozen to stillness. The city is waiting: they would reveal the secret meaning of this sign from heaven… We see that one of these statues moved and raised its hands toward the sky praying unto God for the forgiveness and deliverance from universal disaster. People took notice of comets from time immemorial. One cannot but observe in the sky such a rare, and hence, appalling sight, much more terrible than any eclipse, when in the sky a vague luminary is visible, sometimes so bright that it could blaze even through clouds outshining even the moon, and from bowels of the unwanted celestial visitor enormous tails erupt. Not without a reason in the Middle Ages comets were considered as a bad omen of wars and epidemics. For example, the Norman invasion of South England in 1066 was associated with the appearance of the Halley's comet. Fall of Constantinople in 1453 was also associated with appearance of the same comet. This wonderful newcomer arriving from the depths of the solar system can be seen practically only once within a span of man's life. The comet made its appearance every 76 years, with amazing regularity. Mark Twain, an admirable American writer, the author of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, came into the world in the year 1835 when the Halley's comet shone in the sky. A year before his death he said, "I came to this world in 1835 together with the Halley's comet, and I expect to leave together with it." So it happened. The widely known Halley's comet could be a perfectly suitable candidate for the role of a alien celestial body having intruded into our Solar system by order of some another cosmic civilization far surpassing humankind in its development. Indeed, when comets approach the sun, considerable part of the material contained in them is spent on formation of tails. However, after disappearing from the sky, comets later arrive again. Well then, somewhere in celestial workshops unknown to us they restore, or rather, recover their matter. Over millennia someone gathers information about our Solar system by means of these peculiar probescomets. …Perhaps, Marc Twain came to us from another civilization too? The painting is a hymn to the family remaining the principal element of human society. It represents the family tree as a mighty tower trunk surrounded by tiers of towersbranches. Its appearance reminds us the saying "My home is my fortress." The trunk of the tree symbolizes the unity of the family, while its branches represent the diversity of life. The Family tree is a grownup sprout of the Tree of Life – a mythological image known in many cultures. It originates in the idea of the great tree as the central axis of a divine energy stream. Here, the spirals of reinforcement represent this spiral movement from the bottom to the top. The family tree tower continues to grow, conveying the idea of the continuity of life. Above the door of the tree home hangs a mandala – a holy geometric composition symbolizing spiritual and cosmic order opposing confusion and disorder of the material world.
