HOLA T!Nollywood Cuando hablamos de cine, conocemos Hollywood y Bolliwood ( la industria de cine hindú), pero hay otra gran industria cinematográfica que lanza más de 1000 títulos al año. Nollywood, la industria de cine de Nigeria. El fotógrafo Pieter Hugo nos adentra hoy en esta curiosa industria.Pieter Hugo, un fotógrafo sudafricano nacido en 1976, y que actualmente vive en Cape Town, se ha sentido fascinado por el estilo surrealista del cine nigeriano y en su trabajo “Nollywood” nos ofrece unas imágenes tan surrealistas como el cine al que pertenecen.Nollywood es la industria de cine nigeriana, que lanza cientos de películas al año superando a la industria americana, aunque casi la totalidad de estas películas vayan destinadas a los propios consumidores nigerianos y algunos vecinos africanos, y apenas tengan publicidad fuera de sus fronteras, eso si, son exportadas a las comunidades de nigerianos que viven en distintos países del mundo.Es una industria relativamente joven, ya que tiene menos de 10 años y mas de 7.000 películas , casi todas de muy bajo presupuesto, rodadas en pocos días y con efectos especiales que hoy en día parecen de broma, pero que fascinan a los consumidores de este cine. Los actores son siempre autóctonos y los temas tienen mucho que ver con la vida cotidiana y las costumbres, así que no es difícil encontrar en un película diversos géneros como comedia, acción y “brujería”.El origen de esta industria es curioso, ya que nació cuando los vendedores de televisores o videos, empezaron a hacer películas para ofrecerlas como extra al aparato que vendían.
