Tres detenidos en Orihuela por estafar 50.000 euros con el 'wash wash' EUROPA PRESS. 27.03.2008 * Consiste en hacer creer a las víctimas que podrán duplicar su dinero, mezclándolo con unas cartulinas y unos productos químicos. * Son tres personas extranjeras y con antecedentes policiales. Agentes del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía han detenido a tres individuos como presuntos autores de una estafa a empresarios de hostelería de Orihuela por el procedimiento del 'wash wash', con la que consiguieron hacerse con un total de 50.000 euros, según informaron hoy en un comunicado fuentes de la Comisaría Provincial de Alicante. Los perjudicados presentaron una denuncia el pasado día 22 de marzo, en la que hacían constar que tres individuos les habían estafado 50.000 euros por el procedimiento del 'wash wash'. Este método consiste en hacer creer a las víctimas que, aportando una cantidad de dinero y mezclándolo con otra cantidad de dinero camuflado con tintes -en realidad cartulinas-, se puede duplicar tras un tratamiento de productor químicos, según recordaron las mismas fuentes. Tras la denuncia, los tres presuntos estafadores contactaron de nuevo con los perjudicados y quedaron con ellos en un hotel de Alicante para realizar nuevas operaciones, lo que permitió a los agentes pertenecientes a la Comisaría Provincial de esta capital y de la localidad de Orihuela detenerlos. Los tres individuos están identificados como P.J.P., camerunés de 38 años; F.E.B., ciudadano de la República Centroafricana de 33 años y T.K.G.F., belga de 34 años, como autores de la citada estafa. Los agentes además realizaron un registro en el domicilio de uno de los detenidos, donde encontraron útiles presuntamente utilizados para realizar la estafa, tales como cartulinas blancas, productos químicos y dinero que simulan ser billetes de 500 euros. Virtualization KVM is now officially maintained within the Ubuntu kernel. libvirt and virt-manager have been integrated in Ubuntu. Firewall Ubuntu 8.04 Beta includes ufw (Uncomplicated Firewall), a new host-based firewall application configurable from the command line which is designed to make administering a firewall easier for end users while not getting in the way of network administrators. Memory Protection Additional access checks have been added so that /dev/mem and /dev/kmem can only be used to access device memory. These changes will help defend against rootkits and other malicious code. The lower 64K of system memory is no longer addressable by default. This will help defend against malicious code that attempts to leverage kernel bugs into security vulnerabilities. Applications compiled as Position Independent Executables (PIE) are now placed into memory in unpredictable locations, making it harder for security vulnerabilities to be exploited. Wubi There is a new installation option for Windows users. Wubi allows users to install and uninstall Ubuntu like any other Windows application. It does not require a dedicated partition, nor does it affect the existing bootloader, yet users can experience a dual-boot setup almost identical to a full installation. Wubi works with a physical CD or in stand-alone mode, by downloading an appropriate ISO to install from. It can be found on the root of the CD as Wubi.exe. A full installation within a dedicated partition is still recommended, but Wubi is a great way to try Ubuntu for a few days and weeks before committing dedicated disk resources. umenu WinFOSS and the Windows open source software have been replaced by umenu, a simple launcher that lets the user install Ubuntu from Windows using Wubi, install Ubuntu to a partition without having to make their CD-ROM the first boot device, and find out more about Ubuntu at the www.ubuntu.com website.
